At the Bone and Joint Surgery Center of Novi, we strive to make your surgical experience as smooth and comfortable as possible. In preparation for your surgery, you will need to register online and enter in your medical history and current medications. We are also here to speak to you by phone and provide instructions for you to prepare for surgery or answer any questions you may have about your surgery.

Please allow time for this important exchange of information (see more).

In addition, a member of our business office staff will contact you to discuss your financial responsibilities to the Center and may confirm your insurance coverage prior to your surgery. As part of our efforts to serve our community, we gladly accept Medicare and participate in a number of managed care and insurance programs. We do accept all major credit cards.

Please note the following important medical issues:

  • If you suspect that you are pregnant, please notify your surgeon. Anesthesia and certain medications may be harmful to the developing fetus.
  • All diet pills, herbal medications, and vitamin supplements must be stopped two weeks prior to the date of surgery.
  • If you are taking any blood thinning medications, you must contact the prescribing physician for guidelines on stopping and restarting your medications.
  • If you become ill with a fever, respiratory symptoms, intestinal distress, or any signs of infections, please contact your surgeon’s office as soon as possible. Your surgery may need to be rescheduled for your safety.
  • Please make arrangements for a responsible adult to accompany you for surgery and stay with you the first 24 hours after surgery involving anesthesia or sedation.
