After Your Surgery

You must have a responsible adult here at the surgery center throughout your entire stay.  This person must be able to drive you home.

  • You will rest in our recovery room under the care of specially trained nurses from 1-2 hours.  You may be sleepy or dizzy after your surgery, and this feeling may last all day.
  • Your anesthesiologist will monitor your condition.  The surgeon will speak to your significant other in a private office to tell them how surgery went.
  • Your recovery room nurse will review all discharge instructions with you and your significant other.  You will be given written instructions to take home.  Please follow them carefully.
  • Have someone plan to stay at home with you throughout the night.
  • DO NOT make any important decisions, drive, or operate machinery for 24 hours after your surgery.
